Aftab Sherpao urged the federal government to seriously address the vital issue and adopt a clear stand over it. He demanded that the Fata-KP merger should be finalized till January 2018, as further delay would have disastrous consequences and implications over the political leadership.
"The abolition Frontiers Crimes Regulation (FCR), which governs Fata and the tribal people should be given equal rights like the rest of the citizens of Pakistan" commented QWP chief.
Sherpao opined that the integration of Fata with KP will put an end to the decades of exploitation of people of the tribal areas. "Right now politics over the fate of the tribal people should be away from minds and the struggle for the tribal people's rights was QWP's paramount priorities," he added. He expressed concern over the delay on the increase in the seats of the National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies, as per the interim census report, saying that such behaviour would raise the whole exercise of census as workless.
QWP chief said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had failed in securing due shares for the province in the federal government and they have been exposed to the people who voted them and they would reject them in the next general election for their in-competency and negligence. He said that QWP would not sit by idle, but it would continue to raise its voice for the welfare of the Pakhtoons.
